Our beloved Jerry West passed to be with Jesus, the One whom he loved.
Jerry was instrumental in helping in the founding of Martha’s Pantry during the years when the AIDS epidemic was taking so many lives; those who had been forgotten, not having enough food or supplies for their basic needs. He devised a plan to put food and hygiene products into the trunk of his car and drive them to the homes of those with HIV and AIDS – those who could not otherwise afford to have those necessities.
Jerry worked tirelessly throughout all of his years well into his 80s at the Martha’s Pantry. He was the one who the Pantry could always depend upon. He mustered support groups for those living with HIV and AIDS.
He was a support, friend, and spiritual counselor to anyone who needed him.
We will miss him, and our hearts go out to his family and all of those countless people who loved him.
